KILGORE, Orval "Luke", 64, died at his residence November 9, 2007, in Hewitt, TX after a long battle with heart and lung disease. He was born August 31, 1943, in Dallas, to Luke and Dottie Kilgore. He was a 1961 graduate of University High School in Waco and attended Texas A&M University prior to serving in the United States Navy Submarine Service until his honorable discharge in 1965. He was joined in marriage to Patsy Dulak Kilgore, of Waco, June 27, 1964. Their union of 43 years in life together blessed them with three children, Kathy Kilgore Shelburne, Jeff Kilgore, and John Kilgore. His most treasured times spent with his grandsons, Clay Shelburne and Luke and Patrick Kilgore. In 1995, he retired after 30 years working with the U.S. Postal Service as a Letter carrier and ultimately retiring as Manager of the Westview Station in Waco. Even in retirement, Luke tirelessly continued in his work serving in positions with Tidmore Investigations and most recently as a currier with National Bank of Central Texas. He impacted the lives of hundreds of young men in both the Lake Air and Midway Little Leagues, coached countless league winning and all-star teams including 2 Texas state titles. Luke was preceded in death by his father, Luke M. Kilgore. He is survived by his mother, Dottie Kilgore Fincher and her husband, Leslie Fincher of Robinson; his wife, Patsy Dulak Kilgore of Hewitt; daughter, Kathy Kilgore Shelburne and her husband, Clint Shelburne; son, Jeff Kilgore and his wife, Stephanie Kilgore; son, John Kilgore all of Hewitt; son-by-choice, Jack Fischer of North Carolina; grandchildren, Clayton Hunter Shelburne, William Luke Kilgore and John Patrick Kilgore; brother, Jerry Allen Kilgore and his wife, Virgina Kilgore of Moody; sister, Diane Kilgore Carpenter and her husband, Danny Carpenter of Woodway; brother-in-law, Ernest Dulak Jr. and his wife, Evelyn Dulak of Hewitt. He was privileged in life to also be survived by numerous in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces and a community of cherished friends. What hole that was left in our hearts today will forever remain refilled in our lifetime of memories shared with him. Pallbearers are Doyle Lawless, Stanley Leuschner, Tony Barton, John Bachtel, Brian Lane, Charlie Rigney, Brian Schmunsler, Scott Sloan and Mark Wood. Honorary Pallbearers are Jimmy Machalicek, Jack Fischer and all former players of "Coach Kilgore." A heartfelt thanks is extended to Dr. John Kosarek and his staff as well as to Dr. Maydee Rosario. RYAN, Patrick D., ETCM(SS), USN, Ret., 66 of Port Orchard, WA died November 7, 2007 in Bremerton, WA after a valiant fight with Leukemia. He was born on March 13, 1941 in Chicago, IL to Patrick & Helen (Moncrieff) Ryan. He graduated in Corpus Christi, TX with an AA in Electrical Engineering. Patrick married Lynne L. Goodwin on February 4, 1995 on Catalina Island, CA. Patrick served 20 years in the U.S. Navy as a Submariner, bravely defending our country during the Cold War. After retirement, he worked for General Telephone Electric in San Diego, CA until his retirement in 1993. After retirement, Pat lived life to the fullest while traveling, cruising, and rooting for his beloved Chicago Cubs. Pat & wife Lynne enjoyed spending time between their homes in Port Orchard and Jacksonville, FL over the past 10 years. Pat loved swimming more than anything. He was a life member of B-Girl Reunion Organization, USSVI, and USSVI Bremerton Base. Surviving are wife Lynne; children Laurel Kinney, Jana Morrison, Diana Buckner, and Craig Hollis; grandchildren Aaron & Matthew Powell, Jennifer & David, Jr. Morrison, Savannah & Carolina Hollis; and sister Norine Ryan. Visitation Tuesday, November 13, 2007 from 6:00-7:00pm at Rill's Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard. Funeral service on Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at 10:00 am, also at Rill's. Memorial donations may be made to the Leukemia Foundation or USSVI Bremerton Base (Scholarship), P.O. Box 465, Silverdale WA 98383-0465.
