At random: The USS NAUTILUS SSN 571 steamed 60,000 miles on a lump of Uranium the size of a golf ball. A diesel powered submarine would have required 3,000,000 gallons or 300 railway tank cars of oil.

I just talked with the OlGoat and things are about the same with his parents. They are in very poor health and seem to be slowly on the way out. Ray is trying to get a handle on their finances and running into some hard headed banker types who want to cross all the 't's' and dot all the 'I's'.

Ray did make a visit to the Pampanito the other day and enjoyed it very much.

I had to go out of town to take care of some things for my Mom much like Ray is doing and missed his boat visit. We still plan to get together aboard the Pamp and will put out an invite to any and all in the area when we do.

For now keep Ray and his parents in your prayers,

T.Spoon, DBF

Spoke to Ray by phone. He is in the process of going through his Father's paperwork and getting things in order so that he can take over the "latter stage decision making process". He has done an extremely thorough job and is the kind of Son every Father should be blessed with. He has been joined by his daughter, who not only provides him company and support during this tough time...but is a great help in organizing the affairs of both parents. He sends his best to all and is very appreciative of you keeping him in your hearts and prayers. DEX
