This morning at the Naval Undersea Museum, three Mk. 14's were loaded to take down to the Razorback - two pristine ones for inside the boat and a returned (fairly good looking) 14 from Great Lakes to be used as an outdoor static display.  Besides those three, a short tail section is also going down to be displayed hanging out of one of the torpedo doors...

Now, would someone who has been down there, like me, tell me how in the hell they're going to get them loaded on board - (and not from land unless they got a MEGA-reach crane!)

Why, they're going to cut them into small pieces and walk them onboard, right?

I say float 'em out and hoist 'em up with ship's torpedo handling rigging.

Wouldn't be the first time.

Any Torpedomen around?
