PRICE. Kent V., 74, Lorraine Drive, North Canastota, NY died in the comfort of his own home on Monday evening, April 10, 2023. He was under the loving care of his wife and Hospice, where he had rested since January. Born the son of William Kane and Vesta Jane Coppersmith Price in Rome, NY on October 27, 1948. A resident of Canastota for over 35 years, Kent was a graduate of Rome Free Academy, Class of 1966. He served with the United States Navy during the Vietnam War aboard the nuclear powered submarines USS George C. Marshall and the USS George Washington and was a certified scuba diver. Following his military discharge, he matriculated at, Mohawk Valley Community College. Kent spent most of his early years in the Utica and Rome area. In the 1980's he met Karon Smith Rinaldo, who he married in Canastota, on August 4, 2004. Kent took on the role of dad to Karon's three children, Kimm, Anthony and Rachelle. He was a kind soul, who loved animals, golf, music and most of all, "His Bride". He never lost his sense of humor, even during his illness. Employed in various engineering and production management positions over the years, Kent was last employed with the New York State Power Authority, retiring in 2011. He received the “Employee of the Year Award" after assisting in saving the life of a possible jumper at Niagara Falls. Kent was a member of the Rome Drum and Bugle Corps, where he played the trumpet, was a member of the American Legion, Charles Miller Post #140 and served on the Town of Lenox Zoning Board. He was an avid golfer, playing in various leagues, holding memberships at Oneida Community Golf Club and previously Kanon Valley Country Club. The highlight of his golfing accomplishments was a Hole in One at TPC River Highlands. Surviving besides his wife, Karon, are his two daughters, Kimm (Edward) Li Santi, of Pompano Beach, Florida and Rachelle (Joe) Potter, of Oneida Castle; son, Anthony V. Rinaldo III, of Norcross, Georgia; sister, Diane Remmer, of Deerfield; two brothers, Timothy (Cheryl) Price, of Rochester and Michael Price, of RomeHe was predeceased by a brother-in-law, Theodore Remmer. The family wishes to thank Hospice, family, friends and neighbors, especially Melody De Balso, Everett Taylor, Tim Perry, Mary Sutton, The Utica Crew, Timothy Price, Trisha Leonard, Patty White and Pat Gaiser. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday from the Campbell-Dean Funeral Home, Inc., 300 S. Peterboro Street, Canastota, with Reverend Anthony Tosti, officiating. Interment, with full Military Honors, will be made in Lenox Rural Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home, 3-7 p.m., Tuesday.
