ENOS, Allen John, 75, of St. Marys, Ga., died peacefully surrounded by his family April 11, 2023, after a short illness. Allen was born in 1947 in Pittsburg, Calif., and joined the U.S. Navy in 1964. As a radioman, he served in Vietnam on PBRs and as a submariner on diesel and nuclear fleet subs. He was stationed throughout the United States and retired from Kings Bay in 1991. After his retirement, he and Miss Patty started several businesses, including Whispers Coffee House, Colonial Dinner House and Pauly's Restaurant. After 2005, he worked for several years at the Pro Shop at Laurel Island Links to support his habit and offset his golfing fees. He was a sports enthusiast and loved watching, reading about and playing golf. Hobbies also included scratch-offs, online poker, watching television crime shows and Sambuca. He loved spending time with his family here in Georgia, as well as California and Nevada. He will be dearly missed.Allen is survived by his wife of 50 years, Patty Enos; five children, Tricia (Tommy) Jenkins, Gary (Marlene) Enos, Tracie (Preston) Thomas, Nick Enos and Nathan (Jessica) Enos; grandchildren, Frank Joseph (Laura) Knowles V, LeAnn Wells, Evan Jenkins, Hannah Enos, Chloe Lyman, Abbigail Enos (Kyle Thayer), Zane Enos, Cameron Thomas, Kammie Ferguson, Elijah Enos, Frankie Keefe, Janie Enos, Ethan Thomas, Kaden Thomas and Juniper Enos; great-grandchildren, Hendrix Thayer and Amelia Knowles; and brother, Gary (Betty) Enos. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Grace Enos, and brother, Danny Enos. A Celebration of Life was 2-4 p.m. Thursday, April 13, 2023, at Allison Memorial Chapel.
