ROGERS James William, 80, died after a short illness on April 5, 2023. He was born to Ida Nye Fox in Susanville, CA on May 18, 1942, and adopted by Fred Rogers. He was raised in Blythe, CA. He graduated from Blythe High School in 1962. He enlisted in the United States Navy. He raised his hand for every class he was offered, and he ended up building nuclear submarines in Virginia. He was stationed on the USS James Madison (SSBN-627). He married Barb Hamilton in 1964. They had 2 children together. After his enlistment, they moved to Orange County. He started an Industrial Rubber company, GRW Equipment Co. He moved his company to Bakersfield in 1980. He married Jayne Mayfield in 1991. He had a successful life, traveling, showing paint horses, and rock crawling in his prized red Jeep. He thought the world of his lunch/Jeep friends. Thanks, Clifford. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Jayne Rogers. Son Ron Rogers, wife Kandi Rogers. Daughter Pam Thurmond, husband Chad Thurmond of Anaheim. Son Jerrod Mayfield and daughter Angela Owens, husband Steven; 8 grandchildren; and brother, Ray Rogers. A special thank you to Olivia and Amy of Bristol Hospice.
