PORTER, Edward "Don" Jr., 90, of Albany, died on May 14, 2023, at Our Lady of Mercy Life Center in Guilderland, NY. Don was born to the late Edward D. Porter Sr., and his wife Elizabeth in Albany on September 16, 1932,. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Rita F. Porter; his brother Joseph; and his first wife, and mother of his five children, Mary Eileen Porter. Don is survived by his daughters, Nancy Maney (Gerard) and Sheila Paradiso (Paul); sons, Michael (Nancy), Patrick (Kathleen), and Daniel (Tiffany). He is also survived by nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Don graduated from Vincentian Institute in 1951 and attended Siena College. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy (1952 - 1956) stationed in New London, CT aboard the submarine USS Dogfish (SS-350). He was a member of the American Legion Post in Clayton, N.Y., and the V.F.W. Post in Watervliet. Don retired as a supervisor from Colony Liquor Distributors, after 38 years of service. Don loved and was especially proud of his family and his country. Don was a lover of animals and enjoyed hunting and fishing in the great outdoors in his younger years. Don also enjoyed traveling with his wife Rita and socializing with his many friends. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Our Lady of Mercy Life Center for the wonderful care and compassion they provided Don. His funeral will be a private ceremony for family members. In lieu of flowers, please donate to one of your favorite charities in memory of Don. TURNER, Thomas W., CAPT, USN, Ret., 80, died May 15, 2023. He was born November 19, 1942. Tom served in the US Navy for 30 years, retiring as a submarine captain. Preceded in death by first wife Marjorie Turner; brothers John & Eddie Turner. Survived by wife of 22 years Tessa C. Turner; sons Tom Turner (Tara) & George Turner (Kristin); 10 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. Visitation: Tuesday, May 23 from 5-7 pm at Bellevue Memorial Chapel.
