| Subject: USS Long Island - SSN??? It was announced that a future boat will be the USS Long Island. I did not see a rational for the selection of this name when most of the boats are named after states. The last USS Long Island was an escort carrier lead ship CVE-1. https://www.cbsnews.com/newyork/news/fleet-week-public-can-tour-u-s-s-wasp-starting-thursday/ Maybe the people in Washington DC think Long Island is a state?  | |||
