BELODEAU, Leo, 85, of Dracut, MA died peacefully at home after a period of declining health with his daughter by his side on May 23, 2023. Always a fighter, Leo managed to battle and win against cancer, heart disease, diabetes, and several other ailments over the years. Leo was born to Lawrence J. Belodeau and Sarah (Bigley) Belodeau in Waltham, MA on January 30, 1938. After Leo graduated from Waltham High School in 1955, he enlisted in the US Navy as part of the Submarine Service. After serving with the Navy for 4 years, Leo began his career at Honeywell Bull Corporation, kickstarting a 34 year Managerial career that spanned several Honeywell facilities including Lowell, Lawrence, Brighton and Billerica. While working his full-time job at Honeywell, Leo continued his education by attending Franklin Pierce College where he went on to earn his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business. Leo met Leah Bellegarde at Honeywell, where they both worked. Leo and Leah married in 1967 and went on to have two children, Kimberly and Leo. After working 34 years with Honeywell, Leo retired to spend more time with his family and friends. Leo always enjoyed golf, skiing, fishing, hunting, and cooking for his family. Leo was a loving grandfather to two grandchildren, Ryan and Cameron. And like he did with his own children, Leo enjoyed teaching his grandchildren how to fish, ski, and play golf. Rarely would he miss a game or school event, and he just seemed to get joy from watching them grow into adulthood. Leo was also a 45 year member of both the Lowell and Chelmsford Elks Lodges where he would spend time with good friends. Leo enjoyed cooking for the Elks' members during special events, including the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. In 1997 Leo decided to take on a second career and joined Industrial Tool Supply (ITS), a company newly founded by his late brother Lawrence. ITS and its employees became Leo's second family and home. ITS was such a significant and positive part of Leo's life that we feel it necessary to express how much love and respect Leo had for his niece Pamela and her husband James Childs (ITS's President). In addition to Pamela and James, we want to thank the rest of the ITS team for the genuine love and care they provided Leo throughout his 25 years with the company. Leo was predeceased by his brothers James, Joseph, Thomas, and Lawrence. He is survived by his wife Leah (Bellegarde), his daughter Kimberly Michel and her husband Michael Michel of Dracut, MA, his son Leo of Nashua, NH, his grandchildren Ryan Michel of York, ME, and Cameron Michel of Dracut, MA, his sisters Patricia Drew of Lowell, MA, and Mary Collins of Lowell, MA. Loving Sisters In-law Lenore Belodeau of Rancho Santa Margarita, CA and Mary Belodeau of Tyngsborough, MA.
