HALL, John Estus, 78, died peacefully April 6, 2023. John was born February 23, 1945 in Natchez, MS, the middle of five children to William Roland Hall, Sr. & Juanita Verruchi Hall. Growing up in Natchez, he was not the most studious of students, but enjoyed being social. Working at the local grocery, and later, on his tan as a Lifeguard at the local pool. He spent the majority of his service as a submariner aboard the nuclear submarine USS Pollack (SSN-603). After his 4 years of service, he returned to USM as a marketing major, but the great journey of life drew him away before he finished. Finding enjoyment in travel, fitness, and yoga, while letting his hair grow long, most folks started to consider him a "hippy". After settling in Central Florida back in the mid 70’s, he held a number of jobs once down in Florida (and with a haircut). At first centered around health/fitness (Massage Therapist, Fitness Director for the YMCA, Spa Director for well-known resorts, etc.), then marketing/selling (Real estate, building suppliers, RV’s, antiques, etc.). Eventually finding a career as a Corrections officer at age 50. This wasn't the job most thought of when thinking of him, but by working hard for the next 12 years, he was able to solidify a simple but secure retirement. Upon that retirement, he traveled the great US of A the majority of his remaining years, like a wild bird, migrating out west during the hot southern summer months, and returning to enjoy the mild winters in his countryside home in Clermont, FL. Quick to love, he was married 3 times, having his only child during the last, at the age of 40. Ultimately, single suited him best, and was a bachelor for his last 28 years. And although the marriages didn’t last, he maintained friendship through the years with them all. Along all those years, he enjoyed or was known for many things, but especially swimming and bicycling; Sun and yoga (even known to be a little nudist); music and wasn’t shy to get up and dance; frugal and a procrastinator; into genealogy; sharing his smile and giving one to so many. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Roland Hall, Sr. & Juanita Verucchi Hall; siblings, Ronald Keith Hall & Gail Hall Smith. He is survived by his only child Uriah Keith Hall and wife Brittany Fitzgerald, of Orlando, FL; siblings, William “Billy” Hall Jr. and Faye Bazemore.
