At random: On August 17, 1958, the USS SKATE circumnavigated the globe in about fifty minutes. The SKATE was at a radius of about two miles from the North Pole at the time, and the distance traveled in the circumnavigation was about twelve miles.

Subject: 4th of July

200 years ago today, two of our founding fathers, Thomas Jefferson and John Adams, who were bitter enemies while they were running our new found country, died. They did become friends later in life and wrote to each other often till they could no longer.

We should remember them for what they accomplished.

Actually 197 years ago. They both died on July 4th 1826. My goof.
