Every year we, (Seattle Base USSVI) are in the 4th of July parade held in Kirkland, Washington (Home of COSTCO).
We were awarded "The Most Patriotic Float" in the Parade. (Sorry, I forgot to take a picture of the award)

Not bad for a bunch of old farts!!!

Neat float! Just a question, however, why fly 6 different flags and not an ensign?

Good question.
We don't have one.
We fly the US and US State flag.
We Fly an All Service flag.
MIA Flag.
SubVets of WW II Flag
A USSVI Flag
A US Navy Flag
And sometimes A Dolphin Flag.
When our Admiral (Horton Smith) was alive and marching with us we flew his 2 Star Flag.

Nice float Ric. Looks just like the Flasher!

Thanks Joe. Almost. We were given the float from the Hawkbill Base in Idaho, the people who built it. The sign boards use to say "Hawkbill 666". It is made from an aluminum Air Force droptank and suppose to be a 637 class sub. Sail a tad taller than Flasher and planes lower on the sail.
A couple of guys from the base completely rebuilt the trailer section of he float over the second winter we had it. Did a great job on it making so it could carry riders. It has 4 masts that can raise and lower and a Klaxon. The storage boxes on each side have hand made model torpedoes. The side seen in this pic has a MK37 the other side has a MK14. Whole float weights only about 1300 pounds. Most of that is the trailer.
