CLAS, John Robert, Sr., 83, of York Springs, died at his residence on Thursday, July 6, 2023. He was born to the late Edward Allen and Marguerite Agnes (Keene) Clas in Baltimore, MD on September 9, 1939. He was a retired veteran of the US Navy where he served in the submarine service for more than 30 years. John was a life member of the SubVets, Naval Enlisted Reserves, American Legion Sykesville Memorial Post #223 in Sykesville, MD, Winfield Community Fire Department, Steam Fitters Local 438 and Lions Club Roaring Run in Finksburg, MD. He was employed as an HVAC technician until his retirement. John enjoyed farming and trains. Surviving is his wife of 63 years, Regina E. (Smith) Clas; four daughters, Laura J. Ganske and her husband, Tim of Westminster, MD, Jackie M. Whittington and her husband, Francis E. of MD, Amy M. Alder of Woodbine, MD and Sally A. Clas and her companion, John Carbaugh of York Springs; three sons; Bob Clas, Jr., of MD, David A. Clas and his wife, Debra of Sykesville, MD and Charles L. Clas and his wife, Janeth of Denver, CO; 18 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Heidi Corbin and Helena Clas and four brothers; Joe Clas, Paul Clas, Richard Clas and Pete Clas. He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Mark Joseph Golliday. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main St., Bendersville. A Public Viewing will be held Thursday, July 13, 2023 from 10:00-11:00 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Parish, 6084 West Canal Road, Abbottstown, PA 17301. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow the viewing at 11:00 AM at the church with Fr. Philip Burger as Celebrant. Interment will be private at Indiantown Gap VA National Cemetery, Annville, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in John’s memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.


JOHNSON, Randy Lee, 71, of Morro Bay CA left this earthly realm on May 24, 2023. Randy was born in Bellevue, Michigan on November 22, 1951. He graduated from Marshall High School in Marshall, Michigan. Randy grew up a country farm boy. He lived on the outskirts of town where he gained a passion for riding horses, barrel racing and building cars. Randy was an outdoorsman who loved to camp, hunt and fish. Randy's dreams would take him to many places over the years. His journey began when he joined the US Navy at age 18 where he discovered and grew in his love of the ocean and being out on the water. During enlistment Randy was stationed around the country and visited many places overseas. Randy wore many hats during his professional life including nuclear submarine engineer, firefighter, and eventually principal engineer for PG&E. Randy's dreams led him to Morro Bay, California where his journey continued. Randy started his career with PG&E as a Chemistry and Radiation Protection Technician in November of 1981. His responsibilities grew in Chemistry and Radiation Protection as he advanced into Supervisorial Roles. Randy had a longtime interest in computers and computerized processes. This led Randy to the second half of his career with PG&E. Randy's work in this area included chemistry process systems, emergency planning and response systems, and plant monitoring process systems. Randy retired as the Principal Power Systems Engineer in February of 2018. Randy was a loving and supportive husband, father, and grandfather. Randy married his wife of 35 years Janet (Usilton) Johnson in April of 1988. Randy leaves behind his wife, Janet, four children, Neal Johnson (49) Honalee Johnson (46) Trevor Johnson (29) and Julianna Johnson (20) and six grandchildren. Randy was preceded in death by his parents Joyce Elaine Warner and Richard Lawrence Johnson, his brothers Ricky Johnson and Eric Johnson. Randy is survived by his brother Larry Johnson and his sister Glenda Merritt. Randy was well-loved by those who knew him. Randy was an active supporter of the performing arts. To honor Randy's memory the family is holding a celebration of his life on July 16, 2023, from 12 - 4 p.m. at the Morro Bay Veterans' Hall (209 Surf St, MB). We invite anyone who knew Randy to attend and remember his wonderful life. Published by San Luis Obispo County Tribune on July 8, 2023.


LAMB, Earl Francis Sr., 75, of Port Republic died following a short battle with cancer on July 5, 2023. He was born to Earl Franklin and Ann Marie (O'Boyle) Lamb in Washington, D.C. on April 13, 1948. Frank was a proud graduate of DeMatha High School. He enlisted in the US Navy in 1968, where he served as a submarine engineer assigned to the USS Sailfish (SS-572) and was honorably discharged in 1970. He went on to work for the Prince George's County School Board as a building inspector for over thirty-five years. He had many interests including model trains, photography, civil war history and most of all woodworking. Frank was quite a craftsman and built many pieces of beautiful furniture. Frank is survived by his sons Earl F. Lamb, Jr. of Estero, FL and Joseph M. Lamb and wife Amanda of Port Republic MD and grandchildren Leanne and Michael Lamb. Also surviving are sister-in-law Anita Lamb of Glendale, MD and sisters Mary Catherine Graves and Margaret Ann Ross both of WV. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Ann Marie Lamb, and his brothers Stephen, Patrick, and Larry Lamb. Visitation on Saturday, July 15, 2023, 10:00 A.M. – 12:00 Noon, at the Rausch Funeral Home-Owings, 8325 Mt. Harmony Lane, Owings, MD 20736. Services on Saturday, July 15, 2023, 12:00 P.M. at the Rausch Funeral Home-Owings. Interment on Thursday, July 27, 2023, 1:45 P.M., MD Veterans Cemetery-Cheltenham, 11301 Crain Highway, Cheltenham, MD 20623.
