BEACH, Marshall David, 72, died in Phoenix, AZ after a sudden illness on Wednesday, June 28, 2023. Dave was born to Lester and Mary Seward Beach in Carlsbad, NM on November 10, 1950. He grew up in Durango, CO, learning, exploring and helping on his family’s farm. After graduation he sampled college before deciding to follow in his father’s footsteps and enlisting in the US Navy. He served on both diesel-powered and nuclear-powered submarines during the Vietnam era. While serving in Hawaii, Dave met and married his first wife and they welcomed a son, Travis. After his service, Dave went to work for the Naval shipyard in Bremerton, WA, as a civilian. Years later Dave decided that life was too short to live in the rain, so he bought a convertible and moved to Arizona. There he met the love of his life, Margie. They were married in January 2001 and spent the next 22 years living their best lives together, loving each other truly and deeply. Dave loved his wife, his family, and the great outdoors. He loved being a Grandpa and adored his grandchildren. He was an avid hiker, a co-leader for the Verde Valley Skyliners Hiking Group and taking multi-day backpacking trips into the Grand Canyon several times. Every year he volunteered his time to the Verde Valley Birding and Nature Festival which sparked a love of birdwatching in him. He enjoyed coin collecting, reading, puzzles and taking every opportunity to travel the United States with his wife Margie. Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Lester Beach and Mary Hess; by his brother Steven Beach and by his sister Susan Dowler. He is survived by his wife Margie Beach, his brother Jon (Amy) of SD, his sisters Judy Warwood of CA and Becky (John) Hofeldt of WY; his son Travis Beach of WA, his step-daughters Vada Taylor of IA and Liz (Johnny) Gooslin of Cottonwood; 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. BULLITT, Walter C. (89) died peacefully in the company of his family following a recent struggle with Alzheimer's disease on June 26, 2023. Walter was born to Henry and Anne Bullitt in Houston, TX on October 27, 1933. He graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in 1951 and earned a BBA from the University of Houston. He was a US Navy veteran serving aboard the submarine USS Quillback (SS-424). A lifelong commercial real estate appraiser, Walter held the MAI and CRE professional designations. He lived for many years in Spring Valley, Texas, where he served on the Planning and Zoning Committee and earned the Spring Valley Citizen of the Year award in 1990. Walter traveled the world with his family and friends, and he recorded these trips through many memorable photographs. He was also an avid reader, and he enjoyed classical music. As a founding member of the Texas River Rogues, Walter loved canoeing and rafting throughout Texas. His greatest love was spending time with family and friends at the country house in Fayetteville, where the family spent many memorable Christmases. Walter is survived by his wife of 65 years, Kathryn (Bush) Bullitt; daughter, Lynell and son-in-law John; son, Steven; sister, Carol Ann (Bullitt) Simmons; and grandchildren Elizabeth and Jennifer Grounds. HAHN, Albert P., Jr., 86 died on Thursday, June 29, 2023. He was born the son of Albert and Anna (Marchak) Hahn in Hartford, CT,. He attended Hartford schools graduating from Hartford Public High School in 1956. Al was a veteran of the US Navy serving during the Cold War in the US Navy Submarine Service from 1956 to 1960. He served on the United States Submarine, USS Irex (SS-482) as an IC3(SS) (Interior Communications Electrician). He completed his naval career serving in the Naval Reserves from 1960 to 1962 and on the Selective Service Board during the Vietnam War draft. Al was employed by Connecticut General Life Insurance Company which became CIGNA Corporation for 33 years first as a Pressman in the Printing Department and then as Director of Printing and Reprographics retiring in 1992. He was a member of the Hartford Club of Printing House Craftsmen and a member of the prestigious Sunflower and Cattail Fishing Club, an organization recognizing excellence in the printing industry. During his retirement, he worked for the Town of Granby on the Grounds Crew and as a Machine Tender at the Polls. He was a proud member of the Granby Transfer Station team for over 20 years. He received a Public Service Award from the State of Connecticut for his many years of service as a poll tender. He also worked for his daughter's firm LADA P.C, Land Planners of Simsbury. Al and Terry were active in the Charismatic Renewal under the Archdiocese of Hartford during the 1970s giving workshops and healing Masses throughout the Archdiocese. Al and Terry served as Coordinators of the USS IREX Submarine group setting up reunions and lunches as well as editors of the newsletter. Al built a float of the IREX showing it in Granby, CT town parades as well as parades in Hartford, New London, and Groton, CT. He was predeceased by his daughter, Jill Hahn Fahey and by his parents and brothers Peter Hahn of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Frederick Hahn of East Hartford, CT. Al leaves his beloved wife and high school sweetheart, Theresa Howard Hahn of Granby, CT; a daughter, Terri-Ann Hahn; Jill's husband Timothy Fahey of Granby; two sons, Paul Hahn and his wife Claire (Shovan) of North Granby, and Mark Hahn and Sharon (Rotondaro) of Wethersfield; five; four great-grandchildren; and a dear friend and 'honorary adopted son,' Randy Mele of Granby. His family will receive friends on Thursday, July 27, 4-7 p.m., at the Hayes-Huling & Carmon Funeral Home, 364 Salmon Brook St., Granby. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Friday, July 28, 10 a.m., at St. Therese Parish, 120 West Granby Rd., Granby. A burial with Military Honors will follow in Granby Cemetery, Granby. MORREALE, John Michael, 81, died on Thursday, July 6, 2023. John was born on September 4, 1941, in Middletown, New York. He was the son of Dr. Anthony J. Morreale and Esther W. Morreale. Survivors include his ex-wife JoAnn B. Morreale and children Katherine E. Fontana, John A. and wife Jessica L. Morreale, Matthew C. and wife Laura M. Morreale, and Allison W. Morreale. His grandchildren Andrew J. Fontana, Gina M. Fontana, Bridget N. Lilley, Katianna A. Bradford, Maggie A. Morreale, Mia Bella Morreale, Miles C. Morreale, John C. Morreale, Jack A. Morreale, Montana D. Morreale, Matthew J. Morreale, and Penelope J. Morreale. His great grandchildren Hannah K. Lilley, Jackson R. Lilley, Kylee O. Lilley, Ariel L. Lilley, Cara N. Lilley, Ruby J. Lilley, and Eleanor B. Bradford. In addition, John's survivors include his brother Anthony J. Morreale Jr. and sisters Miriam E. Prigmore and Anne K. Traynor. As a young adult, John served in the US Navy in the Submarine Service as well as the Honor Guard in Washington D.C.. John was also the owner of John M. Morreale Real Estate in Middletown NY which will now be carried forward by his son and business partner Matthew C. Morreale. STEELE, Brian Edward, 55, died while comforted by his wife and sons on April 21, 2023. Brian was born to Ronald and Naomi Steele in Honolulu, Hawaii, where his father was stationed in the Navy, on June 5, 1967,. He lived much of his youth in Connecticut until moving with his parents and siblings to their home state of Wisconsin. Upon graduation from Stoughton High School in 1985, Brian attended college for a year before making the proud decision to enlist in the Navy. He graduated from Nuclear Power School, Orlando, FL, and served as a Nuclear Engineer on a submarine for several years. A serious car accident involving a drunk driver left Brian with disabling injuries and ended his naval career. It was during his last few months in the Navy that Brian met his wife, Colleen, a Jersey girl attending Immaculata University, Pennsylvania. They married a year after her college graduation and began their life together in Wisconsin. For the last 20 years they lived, worked and raised their two sons Cullen and Aidan, in Washington State. For 22 years Brian was a dedicated employee of OSI Systems. He was their Senior Systems Administrator for most of those years and up until his passing. Brian was a strong man of faith and a proud member of the Knights of Columbus since 2005. He served as Grand Knight from 2008-2009. In addition to his strong faith, work ethic, and deep love for family, Brian was known for his intelligence, love of learning, sense of humor and above all, his kind heart. Brian was preceded in death by his nephew, Jackson Cole Steele, and his mother, Naomi Helen Steele. He is survived by his wife, Colleen Steele; son Cullen Steele; son Aidan Steele; father, Ronald Steele; father-in-law and mother- in-law, Richard and Margaret Cyzewski, sister, Lani Kohrt (Todd); brothers: R. Scott Steele (Lisa), Richard Steele (Joan); Andrew Steele (Tera); two nieces and eight nephews, all whom he loved dearly. Come pray for and share your memories of Brian with us. Brian's Funeral Memorial will be held on July 15, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at First Lutheran Church, Stoughton, WI. Reception/luncheon following in the church hall.
