ENGLE, Edward F., 94, of Palmer Township, died at his home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, July 18, 2023. He was born a son of the late Robert and Lottie (Knoble) Engle. in Glendon Borough, PA on July 26, 1928. He and his wife, Adeline (Pyatt) Engle, celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on April 18, 2023. Ed graduated from Wilson High School Class of 1948. He enlisted in the US Navy and was in the submarine service for four years. He retired as a fleet manager from Maier's Bakery, formerly Schaible's Bakery, where he worked for 36 years. Ed was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Tatamy. Surviving in addition to his loving wife, Adeline, is a son, Edward R. Engle and his wife Debra, of Allentown. He was predeceased by a brother, Raymond Engle and a sister, Dorothy Stahl. Private arrangements are under the direction of the Strunk Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson Borough. Offer online condolences at www.strunkfh.com. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church, 401 Broad Street, Tatamy, PA 18085. Published by The Express Times July 19, 2023.
