At random: "I propose to you a new arm of war, as formidable as it is economical. Submarine navigation, which has been sometimes attempted, but as all know without results, owing to want of suitable opportunities, is now a problematical thing no more." - Brutus de Villeroi in a letter to President Lincoln, 1862

FOX, John Thomas Sr., 81, of Cabot, Arkansas, died with his family by his side on Wednesday, July 26, 2023. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio on January 30, 1942, to the late Anthony and Marie Fox. John proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1961-1965, spending deployment time on the submarine USS Thomas A. Edison (SSBN-610). John was an excellent salesman, providing service and selling for 40 years through various companies. He had the gift of never meeting a stranger, striking up a conversation with anyone and everywhere he went. John was always willing to trade Navy stories, share his knowledge and love for boats, as well as soften a conversation with his wit and sense of humor. He enjoyed sharing his experiences while spending time with his children and grandchildren. John had an intense love for all animals, cherishing his horse and dogs the most. He had an unusual interest in the weather and was considered the family’s “weatherman”. John was an avid reader, enjoyed fishing, and would share his political views with anyone that was willing to listen. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Kathryn Fox and his sister, Arlene Anselmo. Left to cherish his memory and to miss him dearly are his children, Erin (Kerry) Harris, Kara (Jon) Lambert, and John Jr. (Ginifer) Fox; grandchildren, Evan, Taylor and Zachary Harris, Andrew and Ryan Lambert, Ginaley Rogers and Gaunne Fox, as well as many extended family members and friends. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 5, 2023 at Resurrection Cemetery, off of SR 23, Lewis Center, Ohio (in the back of the cemetery Seventh Station of the cross). Arrangements by Moore’s Cabot Funeral Home, 501-843-5816.
