Subject: Arron "Hairy" Kfir; Eternal Patrol

Our favorite Brit/Canadian has passed away as of 7:30AM eastern time yesterday morning.
His sister-in-law made the announcement.
Hairy came on this BBS many years ago with an avid interest in submarines and was adopted by us. Many of us came to know him very well. I spent many hours on the phone with him as I'm sure some of you did as well.
In the last few years he has been plagued by dementia and for a while we thought he wouldn't last long. He did make a health recovery but the affliction did not improve. He passed due to complications of pneumonia and age.
Hairy had been born in the UK and raised there. As a child he actually stared in a number of child centered movies something akin to the Our Gang Comedies. He later joined the Army and worked in special branches in some very dangerous operations. One was so critical that the Army had to place him in deep cover for protection. He finally ended up in Canada under a new name. The one we know him by.

I forgot to mention that he was called "Hairy" because of his login name on this BBS; It was "HairBall".

Sad to hear this. Like you Ric, many fun side chats with him along with invitations to come visit. One of a kind he was!
