SWANSON Eldon Dean Swanson passed away on August 29, 2023, in his home in Virginia, MN, where he lived with his longtime partner Terry Johnson. He was born February 15, 1954 in Duluth, MN to John and Norma Swanson. He grew up in Larsmont, enjoyed trips to the Boundary Waters and times at the Hunting Shack in Toimi with lifelong friends, and his weekly Rail Baron Game.  He worked as a Machinist most of his career.  Eldon was in the Navy, submarine duty. Eldon returned to live in Larsmont. He developed acreage for family homes on the Swanson Road.  After completion of this project, Eldon settled in Brimson, MN for a few years. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Norma Swanson, brothers Ardell and Gary.  Survived by his loving children Benjamin and MeLisa, his granddaughter Faith Swanson, sisters Sharolyn Blanchard and Marlys Wisch, brother Dennis (Jan) Swanson, sister-in-law Carol Swanson, and partner Terry Johnson.  Numerous nieces and nephews and friends.  Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, September 16, 2023 at the Silver Creek Town Hall/Pavillion, 1924 Town Road, Two Harbors, MN, starting at 4PM. Food will be provided. We welcome all family and friends, we would like you to share your stories of times with Eldie.  

GRIESHAMMER John Joseph Grieshammer, Jr., 72, of Holts Summit, passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2023. He was born on September 24, 1950 in Jefferson City, a son of the late John Joseph Sr. and Mildred (Weingartner) Grieshammer. John was a 1970 graduate from Helias High School. He would go on to serve six years in the United States Navy after graduation. He spent his time as an electrician on the Nuclear Submarine U.S.S. Henry Clay. After his time in the military, he would attend Columbia College where he earned his business degree. He would eventually follow in his father's footsteps and work for his father's sales business, J.J. Grieshammer Candy and Tobacco Company. He enjoyed playing chess, playing cards (especially pinochle), farming, and horticulture. John even built a house for his parents to live in.
He is survived by his brother, David Grieshammer (Cathy); sisters, Mary Pringer (Dale) and Nancy Dusheke; godchild, Ashley Evers; as well as, many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his favorite person in the world, his beautiful and loving, Aunt Rose
Friends will be received on Friday, September 15, 2023 at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will follow at 12:00 p.m. with Father James Finder officiating. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Heart Association.
