During a Med cruise in 1975 I was with a group of sailors and marines at Trevi fountain. There was a loud explosion about 300 feet from where we were standing. We all took off running to the location of the explosion. There was broken glass on the sidewalk and smoke pouring out of the broken windows. We found out later that a terrorist group had set off a bomb in an American newspaper office.
