BEAGLE .. .. William R. Beagle, 82, of Madison went on Eternal Patrol on Saturday, 21 October 2023, from Yale New Haven Hospital.
Bill served for 22 years in the U.S. Navy Submarine Service, from 1960 through 1982. He retired as a Master Chief Electrician (EMCM(SS)), after serving on the USS MENHADEN (SS-377), the USS JOHN ADAMS (SSBN-620 B/G), the USS WILL ROGERS (SSBN-659 B/G), and the USS BENJAMIN FRANKLIN (SSBN-640 G) submarines; and teaching at Naval Submarine School. Bill was a life member of USSVI Groton Base and was inducted into the prestigious Holland Club in 2011. Upon retiring from the U.S. NAVY, he was employed by Northeast Utilities as a Senior Electrical Instructor for 17 years.
Bill will be remembered for his devotion to God and his family, his volunteer service (trustee/Chairman of the Board of Trustees (supporting the maintenance of existing churches and the build of new churches), high school F.I.R.S.T. Robotics team volunteer, etc.), and his love of model railroading.
The family appreciates and thanks the Cardiac ICU and Cardiac care staff at Yale New Haven Hospital, as well as hospice, for their end-of-life care for Bill. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to Yale New Haven Hospital Cardiac Care.
Bill’s service will be held at 3 PM on Saturday, 28 October 2023, at Crossroads Presbyterian Church, 70 Cross Road, Waterford, CT 06385. |
