HUSKEY .. .. Mr. John Robert Huskey, USNR, age 82, of Vidalia, died Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at his home after an extended illness.  He was a native of Tulsa, Oklahoma and graduated high school there.  After graduation, he joined the United States Navy where he was a warrant officer in a submarine fleet and retired after seventeen years of service.  After his naval career, he moved to California in 1972 and later retired as supervisor with AC Transit in Alameda, California.  He attended Golden Hills Baptist Church in Antioch, California and moved to Vidalia in 2023.  He enjoyed grilling, dancing, and he especially enjoyed taking care of his bride.
His family includes his wife of thirty-two years, Bobbie Williamson Huskey of Vidalia; one son, Randy Williamson, of Vidalia; one grandson, Ryan Williamson and wife Grecia of Roanoke, Texas; and one great-granddaughter, Maya Williamson.
There will be no service.

KENT .. .. George A. Kent, 80, of Cambridge, died November 16, 2023 from dementia. Born in Ames, Iowa, the son of George C. and Ruth Olson Kent, he moved with his family to Ithaca, New York as a small child. After graduating from Ithaca High in 1961, George attended the US Naval Academy and graduated first in his class in 1965. A Burke scholar, he received his PhD in applied math from Brown University in 1971.
George served 30 years in the Navy, first on five submarines, then in research and development of submarine systems. He retired in 1995 and moved to Cambridge. He worked at Towers Perrin in Boston and became a pension actuary. George tutored math and science at Cambridge Rindge and Latin High School and played tuba in the Cambridge Community Band. An ordained Elder in the Presbyterian Church, George sang in church choirs almost his entire life.
George is survived by his loving wife, Mary Louise "Loulie" Hoffman Kent, son George Peter Kent (wife Velida), daughter Elizabeth Louise Kent, and grandchildren, Elina, Georgiy, and Jana Kent, as well as his sister Ann Witztum and brother Thomas Kent.
According to his wishes, George will be cremated. A graveside service will take place in Ithaca at the convenience of the family.
