MARTIN .. .. ..Ryan D. Martin, 43, of Plainville, MA, passed away suddenly on March 30, 2024. He was the devoted husband of Sarah (Bowen) Martin. Born in Syracuse, NY, Ryan was the son of David and Maralee (Charon) Martin of Shallotte, NC. Ryan has resided in Plainville, MA with his family, for the past twelve years.
Ryan was the loving father of Gregory, William, and Abigail Martin. He was the brother of Dustin Martin and his wife Courtney, and Casey Martin and his wife Ashley. He was the beloved uncle of many nieces and nephews. Besides his loving family, Ryan will be missed by his adoring pup, Ollie.
Ryan was a 1999 graduate of Fayetteville-Manlius High School in New York. He completed his undergraduate degree at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute where he participated in Naval ROTC. Ryan was commissioned as an Ensign by his father, CAPT David Martin (ret) in 2003. He served over six years on active duty. He qualified as a Nuclear Submarine Officer and served as Operations Officer on the USS Jimmy Carter (SSN-23) on its first deployment in 2006 in the Western Pacific. LT Martin was an instructor at Naval Submarine School, Groton, CT for two years. LT Martin was selected as Junior Officer of the Year, Submarine Pacific Fleet, in 2006.
Following his honorable discharge from the Navy, Ryan completed his MBA at Boston University Questrom School of Business. He then transitioned to a successful career in IT consulting, serving as a Partner at multiple global firms.
Ryan's greatest joy was his family. Between coaching his boys' basketball teams and cheering Abigail at her dance competitions, you could always find him courtside or poolside with his family. His family and friends will always carry his memory in their hearts.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, April 6th at 10:00 AM in Saint Joan of Arc Church, 3357 Mendon Road, Cumberland. The burial will be private. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.



CONLEY .. .. ..Herman S. “Doc” Conley entered into life Jan. 2, 1930, in Lyons, Georgia. He went home to be with his Lord on Monday, Jan. 24, 2022. The son of Charlie and Alice Conley, Doc served his country as a Navy submarine officer. He was also a police officer of Key West and Miami. He was an active member of Placid Temple Church of God in Lake Placid, Florida. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Wynelle; sons, Dean and Jeff (Candyce); daughter-in-law, Corliss (Steve) Bair; grandchildren, Jason (Rachael) and Brittany. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Catherine/
Doc loved his family and friends. A service for life will be held at Placid Temple Church of God at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 28, 2022 with Reverend Eric Burch officiating.

MARCUM .. .. .. Claud Marcum 83 of Fort Gay, West Virginia went to be with the Lord Monday April 1st 2024 at the VA Medical Center, Huntington, West Virginia.
He was born Feb. 23, 1941 in Dingess, West Virginia to his late parents Clara Smith, Charles and Velva Marcum. In addition he is preceded in death by his wife of 59 years Lois Marcum; sisters Lamina Sturgill, Edna McCloud, Mary Mullins, Charlotte Mills; and brother Alan Smith.
Claud was a veteran of the United States Navy and served from 1958-1962 as a Petty Officier on the USS Cusk (SS-348), the world's first Missle Submarine. He was also the owner and operator of the C&M Lumber Company.
He was a member of the Big Hurricane Missionary Baptist Church.
He is survived by a son Mark Marcum and wife Karen. He was the proudest papaw to Jessica Marcum, and Brad (Amanda) Marcum. He adored his great grandchildren Liam Hall, Addilyn Rae Marcum, and Paisley Marie Patrick. a sister Lahoma Ailiff whom he loved her home cooking.and her husband Bill who he enjoyed being his chauffer, a sister Darlene Tomblin and husband Everal; and brothers Charles Marcum and wife Chris,and Robert Marcum and wife Libby.
Claud leaves behind many other loved ones and friends that will greatly miss him.
Funeral services with full military honors will be held on Saturday April 6th at 11:00 am at the Wilson Funeral Home with Pastor Tony Perry officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery at Louisa, Kentucky.
Friends may visit the family on Friday April 5th from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Wilson Funeral Home.


DOYLE .. .. .. Richard “Red” Doyle – age 91 – passed away peacefully on March 30th. Devoted son of the late Jim and Mary “Bab” Doyle of County Wicklow Ireland. Loving brother of Maureen Doyle and the late Jack (late Eileen) Doyle. Beloved Uncle of Mary Pat Doyle. Dear cousin and friend of many. Red was a graduate of St. Matthias Grammar School and St. George High School. He proudly served in the United States Navy in the Submarine service during the Korean War. Member of Local 399 and American Legion Tattler Post 973. He focused on the simple things in life: family, friends, and laughter. He will be greatly missed by all. Visitation will be held Wednesday 3:00pm-8:00pm at Cooney Funeral Home located at 625 Busse Hwy. in Park Ridge. Thursday, friends and family are asked to meet at St. Monica Church for 10:00am mass. Interment All Saints.
