The above link goes to the USSVI (United States Submarine Veterans, Inc.) Facebook page where their members who have gone on “Eternal Patrol” are noted.

I’ll keep my work here going, trying to get others who were not USSVI members. You’re encouraged to look there as well as here! Obviously, there’ll be some I miss and some I duplicate.

DAVIDSON .. .. ..Jim Davidson passed away from CHF (Congestive Heart Failure) at his home in Olathe, KS on March 31, 2024 (Easter Sunday). A Visitation and Memorial service will be held at Countryside Church which is located at 14150 W. 175th Street, Overland Park, KS 66221, on April 13, 2024, at 3:00 PM.
Jim is survived by his wife of 52 years, Margaret (Peggy), his son Robert Davidson, his daughter Barbara Davidson, his brothers Jack Davidson and Robert (Bob) Davidson, and his half-brothers Dale Dana and Randy Griebel.
Jim was born on August 23rd, 1943, in Council Bluffs, Iowa to Francis Bertrand Davidson and Mabel Yvonne Dunlap, joining his one-year-old brother Jack in the family.
Francis was in the Navy in a submarine unit and the family moved around as Francis was transferred to different ports of call. By the time Jim graduated from Hilltop high school in San Diego, he had changed schools 13 times.
In September of 1961 he enrolled in Southwestern Junior College and completed his 2-year associate degree in January of 1966. While taking courses at the junior college, Jim became employed in January of 1962 with Pacific Telephone Company.
Jim was drafted into the army in February of 1966. He served two years in data processing units, including a Vietnam tour. Following his tour of active duty, he resumed working at Pacific Telephone, where he advanced into management.
Jim was promoted to a project manager position and transferred to San Francisco. It was while working there that he met Peggy. They were married on October 11, 1971, in Redwood City, California.
In the early years of their marriage, Jim and Peggy lived in several different cities including Redwood City, CA, Portland Oregon, where Jim completed a Bachelor of Arts degree, Edmonds, Washington, San Francisco, CA, Rohnert Park, CA, and Tracy, CA.
In January of 1978 Robert James was born, and in September of 1980, Barbara Lorraine was born to the couple.
In 1990 Jim took a special retirement offer from Pacific Bell and began contracting to various companies as a project manager. In 1994, Jim was contacted by a recruiter for a Sprint project manager position in Overland Park, KS. He first declined until Peggy suggested that the move would be beneficial for their children. The family completed the move to Kansas in July of 1994.
Jim and Peggy soon joined a local church, where they were active members for 16 years, holding various positions in the ministries there. In November of 2012, they left that church and began searching for one which followed the fundamental precepts of the Christian faith. They began attending Countryside Church in January of 2013, and became active in ministries here, finding true fellowship, Biblical preaching and teaching, unity of spirit, and loving pastors and congregants.
