| Subject: USS SARGO (SS 188) Memorial Plaque Dedication
Members from the former crew of the USS SARGO (SSN 583) have gotten together to honor crew and ship USS SARGO (SS 188) by arranging for the placement of a 20-inch by 20-inch memorial plaque at the Admiral Nimitz World War II Museum in Fredericksburg, TX.
The dedication for this memorial will be at 1130 on Sunday April 13, 2008 at the museum. If you are a shipmate from SS-188 and you can make it we would be honored to have you in attendance. If you know someone who served on SS-188 please pass the word.
There is information on the USS SARGO (SSN 583) website about the memorial and plans for the dedication:

If decide to come and are coming from outside Fredericksburg, TX here are a couple links which might be useful in finding a hotel room:

and for Kerrville, TX (about a 35 minute drive from Fredericksburg):

for those wishing to attend you will need to make reservations as soon as you can because it is apparently a very busy time in Fredericksburg.
If you cannot make it to the dedication but would like us to include your remarks or remembrances please mail them to me:
