PBS Channel 13 here is having one of their pledge drives...and tonight is "My Generation-The Music of the '60's". Cousin Brucie is one of the moderators and he just did a segment with John Sebastian (Lovin' Spoonful) and
Jackie DeShannon. Earlier, they had showed segment with "The Young Rascals"...all members present &
accounted for including Felix Cavaliere (organ) minus long hair...and when I say "minus" long hair, I do mean
minus...BALD as a cue ball. So, if anyone is home and looking for something different to watch...I don't know if they are broadcasting on-line, but you could check it out. |

Thanks Patti, I'll try and DVR it. I was crazy mad for Jackie De in the 60's. Also loved the Lovin Spoonfulls. I met my first girlfriend to their, "You didn't have to be so nice" in '65 and she dumped me on a Tuesday six months later to "Monday, Monday" by the Mommas and Pappas and I haven't been the same since. |

I worked at a Catskills resort (Grossingers) as a bellhop and checked in Cousin Brucie one weekend. Every time he came through the lobby after that he'd shout "Hello Cousin Bill" at me. Not a good tipper, if I remember correctly... If the reception was good, most us (class of '63) would rather listen to the Tommy Shannon show from WKBW in Buffalo. His theme song made the top forty... Wild Weekend. |

As a young man in NH I would listen to WKBW Joey “Jelly Belly” Reynolds and Danny “Rats in My Room” Nevitts. |

Remembering WKBW in Buffalo there was "The Hound" that broadcasted there in the '50's. He had a routine similar to "Wolfman Jack". I lived just South of Buffalo until '61 and left there after graduating from High School. When we could get to hear a radio while in Boot Camp in Glakes it was great to pick up "The Hound". |
