in the East? Garry used to work with a guy in Con Edison (local utility) by the name of Olmstead...Howie, to be exact. I know that there may be "many" with the last name, but first time I have ever seen the name other than Howie's.

Probably. Our immigrant ancestors landed on the east coast when they arrived from England. A few years ago several cousins and I worked on Olmstead genealogy. It's almost midnight here now, so I'll look up their names and exactly where they settled another day.

We only worked on the downlines from my grandparents. They, alone, were a prolific couple, having had 16 children. Only 12 pregnancies, though because there were two sets of twins and a set of triplets. They started with twins, and then had a baby (or babies) almost every two years. There must not have been any television then, and nursing a baby provided "iffy" birth control. Our father was the #4 child, following twin boys, then a girl. Just think, they didn't have disposable diapers then, and Grandma probably washed clothes on a wash board.

I'll look up what I can in a couple days - I'm working on Income Tax now, and need to finish so that I can put a few tons of paper work away.

Is Howie still living? Is he close (geographically) to you? Do you see him very often?

Time to hit the hay, "Nite, nite. Tomorrow will come an hour earlier than today did.
