BRESNAHAN, Frederick R., 79, beloved husband of Eileen (Collins) Bresnahan, died peacefully Wednesday evening, March 26, 2008 at the Ledgewood Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing Center in Beverly, MA after a brief illness. Born in Peabody, MA he was the son of the late Michael H. and Margaret M. (Leahy) Bresnahan. He graduated from Peabody High School, and was a lifelong resident of the city. Fred applied his talented gifts in the craft of painting and decorating by working and teaching throughout his career. He was a painter and instructor of painting with the Painters and Allied Trades Union, Local DC 35 of Boston and Local 1138 of Dorchester. Although he retired in 1995, he continued to teach at Whittier Tech in Haverhill where he taught for many years. He also taught in the Apprentice Program for the Union in Boston. Mr. Bresnahan served in the United States Navy Submarine Division during the Korean War. He was a member of several local organizations, including the American Legion and VFW in Peabody, the Elks in Peabody and A.O.H of Peabody. He lived his life simply and will be remembered as very devoted to his family. He is survived by his wife, Eileen (Collins) Bresnahan of Peabody, with whom he shared 54 years of marriage; a daughter and son-in-law, Kim M. and Mark Bass of Norwich, Conn.; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Timothy and Debra Bresnahan and Gary Bresnahan, both of Peabody; three grandchildren, Megan M. Bresnahan, Fred Bresnahan, and Eric Bresnahan; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Francis J. and Dorothy Bresnahan of Peabody and Philip and Lillian Bresnahan of Ireland; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death, besides his parents, by a sister, Barbara Murphy. His funeral will be held on Saturday at noon from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. location, Peabody, followed by a funeral Mass at 1 p.m. in St. John the Baptist Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited. BURRUS, James W., 59, of Vernon, CT beloved husband of Renee J. (DeWolf) Burrus, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at Rockville General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Longmont, CO to the late Rev. L. Gerald and Janice (Kincheloe) Burrus. James joined the US Navy in 1967, serving in the Submarine Service during the Vietnam War. It was when he left the Navy in 1971 that he met the love of his life Renee in Groton. They were married in 1972 and had 35 wonderful years together. His professional life was spent working with computers, most recently as a consulting principal for Computer Sciences Corporation which he joined in 1984. James was a very giving and caring man who loved animals, was a regular blood donor, and maintained his wonderful sense of humor during his courageous battle with cancer. His passion was skiing with his children and a relaxing game of golf with his friends. Besides his wife, James leaves a daughter, Jeannine L. Burrus and her fiancé Frank Mattison of Colchester; a son, William G. "Jerry" Burrus and his wife Nicole Giampapa of Athens, GA and his new grandson, four month old Aiden James Burrus. Two brothers, J. Stephen Burrus of Boulder, CO, and David J. Burrus of Rupert, ID. Three sisters, Jeannie Duncan of Castle Rock, CO; Barbara Evans of Littleton, CO; and Judith Burrus of Taylorsville, UT. His loving in-laws, William and Jean DeWolf of Waterford who loved him as their own son. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, March 31, 11:30 a.m. at the First Congregational Church of Vernon, 695 Hartford Tpke., Vernon. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 30, from 12-3 p.m. at the Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Rd. (Rt.83), Vernon. LUSBY, John F., LCDR, USN, Ret., 82, of Williamsburg, VA died Tuesday, March 25, 2008. He served during World War II, and the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He was proud of his naval service, especially submarine service on the USS Charr (SS-328) and USS Brill (SS-330). LCDR Lusby retired from the United States Navy as an Ordnance Officer. His second career was in Civil Service as a Safety Specialist with his last duty assignment at the United States Naval Academy. LCDR Lusby was a loving father and grandfather, known for his undying wit and sense of humor. His parents, Lester and Edith Lusby, and his wife, Mae R. Lusby, preceded him in death. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, J. Fred Jr. and Jeannie Lusby; and his grandchildren, Joseph P., Claire E. and Andrew E. Lusby. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 27, at Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society, 875 N.
