Looks like that bear has been raiding the blueberry patch; I wonder if Brer Rabbit was in there?

Anyone out there beside me a Ray Stone remember Sly Fox,a locally produced cheap Norfolk wine....Known by Submarine Squadron Six animals as "Slippery Wolf"...CHEAP? You bet, you could get a tank car load of it for eighty-nine cents...and if you got any of it slopped on a set of whites the entire jumper or trou turned into attached shoe shine rags. I think some unscrupulous sonuvabitch has been slipping jugs of Sly Fox to that iceberg ships company bear....He looks like a half in the bag boat sailor...The tongue is the dead givaway...that's thirty minute aged Slippery Wolf sure as hell....In another three days his toes will turn black and fall off and he'll end up dating a 430 lb. WAVE Dental Tech with breasts the size of a Baluga whale and a butt like a forty dollar mule...and all the residents of Hogan's Alley will be jealous as hell. Sly Fox, Mister Polar Bear has definitely been hitting the "FOX" or fermented NeHi. DEX

As a 17 yr old E-2 working in the woodworking shop at Dam Neck ,circa 1963,I was rudely introduced to
Sly Fox(and the aformentioned dental tech)by my first "sea daddy",a salty TM3(ss).
Can't remember his name but we spent many a nite sittin' under the boardwalk in Va Beach
with a couple of jugs of Sly Fox.He used to tell me "son, you ain't drunk till the one eyed fox
winks at you"
The stuff cost about 50 cents a truckload and went down like Kool Aid .It was "the gift that kept on giving"because you woke up in the morning feeling pretty good until that first drink of water. With
each subsequent trip to the scuttlebut, you were revisited by the Fox and the sins of the previous
evening. You coulda gone all day without bringing that one up Dex!

Oh yeah,

I got introduced to Sly Fox when I was in RM A School in Norfolk back in '64.

It was winter so I never lost a pair of whites.
