Can a one legged quack play the bagpipes?
Tonight I will find out if it can be done. Against the advice of everyone I hold dear (my wife and the Scottie) I'm going to attend band practice tonight and see if the pipes can be played while sitting down. It's not recommended but I've been told by our "Pipe Sergeant" it can be done. So in the true spirit of "George Findlater" I'm going to give it a try. If I can figure out how to post photos I'll do that tomorrow; either from practice or the emergency room. You don't suppose the band would beat me with my own crutches do you?

I sincerely hope that you do this experiment indoors. The residences of Detroit may not appreciate you causing all of the dog and cat population to commence shreaking, howling and fighting amonst themselves. You might also cause a ton of calls to HomeLand Security with people thinking we are being invaded by aliens. |

Doc, be sure to cross your legs while sitting down while wearing your kilt, if you know what I mean!

... and see if the pipes can be played while sitting down.
First, get you a long L O N G extension cord, and an electric leaf blower. Then remove the mouthpiece of your pipes, and make an adapter to fit the leaf blower.
A Shop-Vac with the sucker hose put in the blower hole also works |

I did it; I rejoined the band last night for some practice and didn't fall down or in any other way embarass myself.
The goal is to be able to compete at the Big Highland Games on Memorial Day weekend.
