Subject: Obit Messenger results for 04/12/08.

DREW, Thomas E., 88, of Fort Wayne, IN died Thursday, April 10, 2008, at Parkview Hospital. Born January 25, 1920, in Fort Wayne, he was the son of the late Alta E. (Flickinger) and Edward T. Drew. He served in the U.S. Navy Reserve during World War II as a Fireman 1st Class aboard the submarine USS Seadragon (SS-194). He was a Kettleman at Falstaff Brewery for 43 years, retiring in 1982. He was a member of Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church, V.F.W. Post 857, American Legion Post 330 and Submarine Veterans World War II. Surviving are his sons, George D. Drew of New Haven and Gary (Roberta) Drew of Fort Wayne; daughters, Carolyn E. Omo, Barbara E. Hibler and Rebecca E. (James) Omo, all of Fort Wayne; 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and sister, Vivian Drew. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary C. (Ogg) Drew; sons, John Drew and Tommy Drew; son-in-law, Clarence Omo; sister, Sarah; brother, Gilbert; and special loved ones. Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church, with calling one hour prior. Father Mark Gurrtner officiating. Calling also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at C.M. Sloan & Sons Funeral Home, 1327 Wells St., with Rosary service at 6 p.m. Sunday. Burial in Lindenwood Cemetery. Preferred memorials to St. Mary's Soup Kitchen. Published in the Fort Wayne Newspapers on 4/12/2008.


NAGELS, Charles John "Johnny", 97, passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2008, at the VA Hospital in Livermore, CA. Charles was born June 9, 1910 he served in the Navy for 9 years in Hawaii and also in Panama on a submarine, as a cook. He married Margaret Daniel in July of 1939 and they were together for 61 years. He was a residential and commercial house painter for 40 years in Oakland and the surrounding area. He loved to cook and tell stories. Charles is survived by his daughter Mary Ingwaldson of San Ramon, his three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. His faith was lived out in his everyday life and he will be missed by all who knew him. There will be a graveside service at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery on Wednesday April 16 at 1:30pm.
