At random: The first Japanese prisoner of war captured by the Americans was Kazuo Sakamaki, an ensign in the Imperial Japanese Navy. He was captured on the morning of December 7, 1941. Sakamaki had set an explosive charge to destroy his disabled submarine, which had been trapped on Waimanalo Beach. When the explosives failed to go off, he swam to the bottom of the submarine to investigate the cause of the failure and became unconscious due to a lack of oxygen. Sakamaki was found by a Hawaiian soldier, David Akui, and was taken into military custody. When he awoke, he found himself in a hospital under American armed guard. After the war he returned to Japan and found work with the Toyota Motor Corporation before retiring in 1987. Sakamaki died on November 29, 1999, aged 81.

There are 7 girls on a bus. Each girl has 7 backpacks. In each backpack, there are 7 cats. For each cat, there are 7 little cats.
Question: How many legs are there in the bus?

Have fun!!!

Sorry....I read ON the bus at first.

There are 54 cats (big cats+ kittens) in each bag. (Each big cat has 7 kittens)
Each girl has 7 bags = 54 cats X 7 bags = 392  (number of cats with one girl)
Number of cats with 7 girls= 392 X 7 = 2744
Number of cat legs: 2744 X 4 = 10976
Cat legs + girl legs = 10976 + 7 X 2 = 10990.

Edited to add the "Sorry" sentence.

Shouldn't that be 56 cats total...49 kittens + 7 cats = 56?

But other than that, YOU ARE CORRECT, SIR...ala Ed McMahon!

And no, Dex, I didn't pull the wings off flies...I just smashed the crap out of them...!!!

HEY...My brain done been busted...I was figuring cats and multiplying them by four to get legs. My math credentials are quite formidible...took Algebra II seven times to include three USAFI courses....still waiting to get a passing grade....I can add my fingers and toes and get the right answer three times in ten. I also figured in four amputee cats....and twelve born legless. DEX

I guess this scenario is happening in the Sub Continent where they all ride "On the Bus" so being they are "On the Bus" I guess there is nobody "In the Bus" therefore No Legs.

7 Girls, and each girl has 7 backpacks = 49 backpacks
49 backpacks X 7 cats = 343 cats
343 cats X 7 kittens = 2401 kittens

2401 kittens X 4 legs/kitten = 9604 kitten legs
343 cats X 4 legs/cat = 1372 cat legs
7 girls X 2 legs/girl = 14 girl legs

10990 total legs. There was never a mention of other passengers or driver.

There is no answer because it asks for legs the we don't know how many legs there on the other people on the bus the seats on the bus could have legs etc. but if it is not meant to be a trick question the answer is 7 to the 4th power times 4 assuming each little cat has 4 legs + 7 to the 3 power times 4 each big cat + 14 (2 for each girl) so assuming every one has normal # legs and no driver etc the number of legs should be 10990   OOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHH NNNNNNNOOOOOOOOO Creeping NUCISM I am glowing again On NOOOOOOO

C'mon Dex, I saw your buses ands they are the same as ours. So therefore, they have at least ONE wheel IN the bus, maybe TWO.

ONE = Steering Wheel

TWO = Steering Wheel and maybe the Spare Wheel.

As for the leg question.....what about the 'legs' to the seats?

yeah, I know, there's alaways one......
