From Jack Stawicki, also of REQUIN -

Dave Helmold has been diagnosed with terminal cancer and, according to Dave's wife Joy, is preparing for his final patrol.

I will let you know more when I hear it. Dave was always very helpful in assisting me with information on REQUIN, sending photos, emails, etc.

He will be missed.

Thank you Dave, for giving me the privilege and honour of getting to know you.

I had the pleasure of serving on Requin with Dave and tipped a few suds with him, some great memories.
