At random: The Grampus and Pike were commissioned in ceremonies at Mare Island the same day, Thursday, the 28th of May 1903. A young naval officer, Lieutenant Arthur MacArthur III, older brother of General Douglas MacArthur, assumed command for both vessels at the same time.

Subject: "COOL BOB"

I got a phone call from "The Cool One" a few days ago and told him about this web-site.. As he is newly married it may take him some time to actually find his way here. (He and Karen, his new bride, came to Maine last summer to spend some of their Honeymoon with Becky and I. You can't beat a good foursome, I always say!) So take this as a warning! Double your hatches, double the watch! Do whatever you deem necessary to protect your own interests! 'Cause Cool Bob's a'comin' and life will never again be the same...

P.S. I will be selling Cool Bob/English translation books on John Clear's website for Forty-ninty,five, aaahh, four-nine, fiver, uummm, forty-five, ninety... Sh*t... Cheap!!

Welcome "COOL BOB"! Been A.W.O.L. too long my friend. I'm sure that you recall T.E.S.S. ~ I've included the link so that the new comers can get up to speed. I can almost hear the rumble as those FMs roll...
