BASILICK, Richard Henry, 69, loving husband, son, brother, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, died unexpectedly Saturday April 26, 2008. Richard proudly served his country for 20 years as a submariner until retirement. He then continued his service by helping to build submarines at Electric Boat. He is survived by his wife of 47 1/2 years, Ada-Jo; his mother, Nellie; his brothers, Roger and George; his children, Debbie Swan (Scott), Vicki Rice (Hugh), Scott Basilick and Tammy Shinault (Mike); grandchildren Christine Lakowsky (Brent), Craig Swan, Katey and Colleen Rice, Daesha and Bailee Shinault; and great-grandchildren, Trey, Julian and Kennady Lakowsky. The funeral service will be held Wednesday at Thomas L. Neilan & Sons East Lyme Funeral Home, 48 Grand Street, Niantic. Calling hours will be from 5 to 7 p.m. with the funeral services at 7. The family requests that in lieu of flowers contributions be made to Disabled American Veterans, Inc., PO Box 14301, Cincinnati, Ohio 45250-0301 attn: Gift Processing.
