Anyone else having problems getting into Rontini's BBS? For me it's like hitting a brick wall.

It's been slow to stop the last couple of days. Something must be wrong with his web server/host. Hopefully it's just heavy usage and not a DoS attack or hacking.

Ron lives in a remote part of Wyoming...218 miles from the nearest human contact...Willie Furguson's General Store and "Fer trade female companionship emporium"......(This week's special being a "two fer one" on beaver traps and local made laundry soap.) Ron runs his cyber hootenanny out of a condemed double-wide with power supplied by a combination of available power sources such as a windmill, two water wheels and his faithful donkey WARSHOT, The Wonder Ass...who walks on a treadmill. He used to have an old indian called Chief Rotten Eye who turned a crank...but once he qualified for Social Security, Medicare and food stamps and became a soopur delegate the Chief moved to MooseNut a thriving metropolis in North Dakota. This week the cyber message shooter is slow because WARSHOT the Wionder Ass has hayfever......and Ron's out back refining drinkable ethanol. Hope this clears everything up. DEX

I've had no problems getting in. There is probably a server between you and Ron's host that is having problems. I find that occasionally.

No problems with it today. But yesterday afternoon is was very slow.

Just tried it a second or 2 ago prior to this edit and it is slow again at this hour. Must be heavy traffic on the provider.

It was very slow for me yesterday (when I could get it to open). Worked fine this morning. Back down to a snail's pace now [1540 CDT] with 21 active users online.

Just spoke to Pargo Bill. There is a problem with the server and he is working on it now.

Thanks for the update,Myron. I clicked on my Rontini bookmark >5 minutes ago and it is still loading. Interesting, because normally after a couple of minutes, Firefox will just spit up an error message like 'server can not be found' after a minute or two. But in this case, it's (at ~ 10 minutes now) acting like I'm just downloading some humongous billion bit file.

Bill had to get the host's tech folks involved. Seems as though there were at least 2 ISPs that were trying to stage a DoS attack. Location of those ISPs is China. I just tried and the bbs has never popped this fast. Well, maybe

It would appear that 'messdeck.com' has been secured again. All that I'm getting is an indefinite 'waiting'....1525CDT TUE 20th.
