LEVENS, F.T. 'Spud', 81, of Midland, died on Wednesday, May 14, 2008, in Midland. He was born on May 23, 1926, in Birmingham AL. Spud moved to Midland in 1951. He was a past member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and Permian Basin Land Men's Association. Spud served in the U.S. Navy submarine service in the South Pacific. He was honorably discharged in 1945. Survivors include one son, Robert Levens of Midland; two daughters, Sheree Levens, of Midland, and Michelle Levens of Fort Worth; 2 Step children Brian Coats and Leah Jumper; and grandsons Jason and Nathan. A Memorial Gathering will be held at 6 :00 PM Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. A burial at sea by the United States Navy will be held at a later date. The family suggests memorials to be made to Hospice Midland 911 West Texas Midland, 79701. Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home of Midland.
