READY IN 10 Min
Original recipe yield: 4 servings

INGREDIENTS
1 large lemon, peeled and seeded
1/2 cup white sugar, or to taste
3 cups cold water
6 ice cubes

DIRECTIONS
Place the lemon, sugar, cold water, and ice cubes into the container of a blender. Blend until smooth, and serve immediately.

The best lemonade I remember was the stuff we made up after HS football practice early in the season. This was in the CA Sierra foothills, and that region is H-O-T and D-R-Y in late August and September, so we were some thirsty puppies after 2 hours of scrimmage and wind sprints. There was no such thing as Gatorade back in those days (early 60s).

about a dozen lemons
10 lbs of crushed ice
couple quarts of water
sugar? sugar is for pussies!

In a 5 gal bucket, chuck in the ice and water.
With lemon in palm of hand, smash it down against the bucket rim to approximately bisect, then crush and squeeze by hand. (You did wash your hands first, didn't you?) Continue for remaining lemons, then swirl to mix by hand.
Dip out a plastic cup-full, and swig away. Dilettantes spit out the seeds; linemen chugged it down straight.
Tart, but refreshing!
