At random: Among the 'first' that Electric Boat Division has introduced into American submarines, have been the marine Diesel engine, the perfected use of the storage battery, the combination of battery and internal combustion engine, and the world's first adaptation of nuclear energy to propulsion in the USS NAUTILUS.

God Bless America!!!

PO2 (EOD2) Mike Monsoor, a Navy EOD Technician, was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor posthumously for jumping on a grenade in Iraq, giving his life to save his fellow Seals.

During Mike Monsoor's funeral in San Diego, as his coffin was being moved from the hearse to the grave site at Ft. Rosecrans National Cemetery, SEALs were lined up on both sides of the pallbearers route forming a column of two's, with the coffin moving up the center. As Mike's coffin passed, each SEAL, having removed his gold Trident from his uniform, slapped it down embedding the Trident in the wooden coffin.
The slaps were audible from across the cemetery; by the time the coffin arrived grave side, it looked as tho ugh it had a gold inlay from all the Tridents pinned to it. This was a fitting send-off for a warrior hero.

This should be front-page news instead of the crap we see everyday.

It is Ralph.. It is indeed.
Unfortunitly I have had the Honor of attending 5 Funerals of Navy SEALs that I have know who were all close Teammates of my Son and they were all Honored in much the Same Mannor it's a Tradition.. They like many other outfits are close but somehow when in their presence at such a ceremony they really make you feel proud and very fortunite to have known them.. It really never leaves you.... a subject seldom broached in our household because my wife was overwhelmed by the whole event..and after her first funeral she attended she couldn't muster the heart to weather any more.
This is a very nice post.. Thank You

Hey Smiley,
when are you and your bride going to be coming back down this way???? I still owe you a beer and hell Jason and his swim buddies can forget to bring their wallets, because their money is NO GOOD while they are with me.. And yes I do know how much a SEAL or SF guy can drink (because I have been there with them in the bars seeing who can drink who) so I will buy a keg and stuff to grill and have a party here or at Jason's house your choice.
