BAILEY, James William, 75, of Lincoln passed away Thursday, July 3, 2008, at home with his family. Jim was born August 9, 1932, in Mount Pulaski to the late Dwight Henry Bailey and Amelia (Emma) Louise Klotz Bailey. He married Viola "Vi" Fuehring on September 1, 1957, in Lincoln. He graduated from Feitshans High School in 1950 and served in the U.S. Navy on a submarine from 1951 to 1955. He was a machinist at GE in Decatur and PPG in Lincoln. Surviving are his wife, Vi Bailey of Lincoln; son, Robert James Bailey of Jesup, Ga.; daughters, Janet (Warren) Petersen of St. Helena Island, SC, and Karol Lisa (Shams) Hassani of Bloomington; three grandchildren, Todd Petersen and Erik Petersen of Beaufort, SC, and Tiffany Leverton (Kyle) of Oakford; four step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, July 6, 2008, at Holland Barry and Bennett Funeral Home in Lincoln. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, July 7, 2008, also at the funeral home, with the Revs. Jacob Skelton and Josh Merreighn officiating. Burial will be in Zion Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Wayne J. Schall Hospice or to the Lincoln Church of God Building Fund and will be accepted at the funeral home.
