At random: Robert Fulton, inventor of the steamboat, was an avid submarine enthusiast. He built several submersible warships, one of which was known as the Nautilus.

I knocked back a double shot of this stuff last weekend at my brother's ship's reunion (USS Wainwright, DLG/CG28). Vile. Terrible stuff.

Then I found out my brother had supplied it for the hospitality suite. Hmm.... Guess I'll have to force him to drink the stuff.

Reminds me of Doc and John. John had some liquid of questionable origin. Doc refused a drink of it. John pulled a pistol, and said "I said take a drink." Doc reluctantly weighed his options, and took a big swallow. Then John handed Doc the pistol and said "Now you make me take a drink of that stuff!" Somethings are best swallowed with the aid of other motovation.

I thought he was pointing a "lahbstuh" at me. Those things are scarier than any damned pistol that John Bay would have.
We ended up drinking the whole bottle and consuming the weapon to boot.

A lot of guys reading this BB have some of his art-work inscribed on various parts of their body... including me. Those were fun days in Pearl! Even though Jerry is dead, his website is alive and well. Thanks for the memories.
