Subject: Obit Messenger results for 08/04/08

JENNINGS, Bobby Lynn, 79, of Frankston, died Saturday, August 2, 2008, in Tyler. He was born September 21, 1928, in Snyder, Okla., to the late Vinnie A. and Agnes Jennings. He retired from the U.S. Navy and, as the navigator of the USS Seadragon, he was on the first submarine to make a complete transit of the Northwest Passage and the first sub to surface at the North Pole. He was a member of the Frankston VFW post No. 5073. Mr. Jennings also retired from the TDCJ after 24 years of service. Meanwhile he made time to be a softball umpire for 30 years, was a member of bowling leagues in Athens, Jacksonville and Palestine, while also bowling in a traveling league. He was very active with the "Meals On Wheels" in Palestine. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Jennings; son, Keith Jennings; and grandson, James Alen Jennings. Mr. Jennings is survived by his wife, Jean Calhoun Jennings of Frankston; sons and daughters-in-law, James Russell and Beverly Jennings of Martinez, Ga., Stephen D. and Dyanna Jennings of Huntsville, Wayne E. and Lesley Jennings of Elkhart, William Marshburn of Frankston, and Stuart Calhoun of Rusk; daughters and son-in-law, Elizabeth Hawkins of Palestine, and Cindy and Vic Wimpee of Frankston; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2008, at Autry Funeral Home in Frankston. Funeral services for Mr. Jennings are scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug 5, 2008, at Autry Funeral Home chapel, Frankston, with Revs. Gary Dollarhide and George Folmar presiding. Burial will follow at Frankston City Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice HomePlace, 4111 University Blvd., Tyler, 75701.


KUHNMUENCH, Lloyd Eugene, 86, died Friday August 1, 2008. Born in St. Louis June 14, 1922. Survived by his wife of 51 years, Mary Lou Kuhnmuench (nee Oliver); children: Ginny (Baker) Kurrus of Little Rock, AR, Sally (Dennis) Feist of Houston, TX and Charlie (Melissa) Kuhnmuench of St. Louis; grandchildren: Madeline, Sarah and Andrew Kurrus, Jessica, Connor, Parker and Stephanie Feist, Elise, Jake and Paige Kuhnmuench; brothers-in-law: Charles C. (Barbara) Oliver of Kansas City, MO and D. Arthur (Carolyn) Oliver of Columbia, MO and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceeded in death by his sister Shirley (George C.) Giessing. Lloyd was a graduate of Clayton High School and the United States Naval Academy. He was a veteran of submarine service in WWII. Following his service he worked 35 years for Reynolds Metals Co.Services: Funeral service Tues., 10:00 a.m. at BOPP Chapel, 10610 Manchester Rd. (Kirkwood). Interment private. Memorials appreciated to Peace Haven Association, 12630 Rott Rd., 63127 or the charity of one's choice. Visitation Mon., 5-8:00 p.m.
