At random: "I saw the submariners, the way they stood aloof and silent, watching their pigboat with loving eyes. They are alone in the Navy. I admired the PT boys. And I often wondered how the aviators had the courage to go out day after day and I forgave their boasting. But the submariners! In the entire fleet they stand apart!” -- James Michener

OK i have been reading all about age, and such and have seen how youthful some you have suddetly become At least in the photos. I Just had to try to download a photo of myself. Now I do admit this was just a few years before I met and married Howard, but not all that many

Well Ric it was a close call. He told me we were getting marrid very soon after my 18th birthday. I should have know, when he didn't ASK me to marry him. Oh well we did manage 32 years, so I gues there was something there

Sounds as though he didn't consider "No" for an answer.

Let's see 18 + 32 = 50 . Am I close? If so, you're a younger widow than I was. I was 54.

I never did find the obit. There didn't seem to be anything on the date that you told me.

You're moving back to Sioux Falls? We'll be at entire opposite ends of the state.

The opposite side of the State???? Shucks Cora, I thought the entering and leaving sign was on the same post. You can rise up in your seat and see from one side to the other. That is except for in the winter. Blizzard conditions require you to use a step ladder.

Doc Beeghly as a fetus????????? Was/is that possible??????? I would imagine that the actual Stork brought him and deposited him somewhere. Where the Stork got him from remains a mystery.

Yes Cora you are really close. I will be living in Madison, which is about 50 miles almost due north of Sioux Falls. No you can't see all the way across the state, only half way. See once you get west of th river youstart with some more "rugged" landscape. Plus Cora is out in Rapid, that is part of the Black Hills, aka a small mountain range However we can probably get together and figure out a way to get them arows to travel to SC I could have posted a younger photo, however this is from a family photo. The tie in the photo is worn by my oldest brother, who was in high school at the time, if I recall right. It is fun to see how some of us started off.

Laura, I retired from long distance truck driving and I can't tell you the number of times I crossed South Dakota and stuggled through snow in the Black Hills. I've got some relatives in Oakes, North Dakota and we throw darts back and forth at each other all the time.
There in Rapid City, after sundown they turn out all the lights and roll up what sidewalks they have, so, at night you don't even realize you gone through the place.
