DRECHSLER, Milton Henry, 88, of Holton, died Sunday, August 10, 2008 at a Holton nursing home. He was born October 16, 1919 in Holton, KS, the son of Max K. & Emma Wahl Drechsler. He graduated from Holton High School in 1937. He retired from the US Navy in 1958 as a Chief Warrant Officer, and returned to Holton. While in the Navy, he lived in California, Virginia, and Hawaii. He served during World War II on a submarine. He had been a member of V.F.W. Post #1367 in Holton, the Kansas Submariners Organization, and a longtime member of the Holton Lions Club, a Shriner and a Mason. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Holton. He and his wife, Doris owned and operated Bennett Plumbing Company in Holton for many years. Milton married Doris Lucille Bennett on July 16, 1949 in San Francisco, CA. She preceded him in death on April 19, 1993. He was also preceded by sisters, Lena Bent and Violeta Bowser; and a brother, Max Drechsler. Milton is survived by a daughter, Emily Metzger of Wichita, KS; a son, Tom Drechsler of Topeka, KS; a sister, LaVerna Slimmer of Holton; grandchildren, Taylor and Trevor Metzger, and Heidi and Benjamin Drechsler. Memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 13, 2008 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will be in the Holton Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 12:30 until service time on Wednesday. Memorials may be given to V.F.W. HUDSON, David N. "Honcho", 61, of St. Cloud, FL passed away Sunday, August 10, 2008. He proudly served in the submarine service of the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam era. David loved spending time with his grandchildren, and working on cars, as well as golfing. David is survived by his wife Janet Hudson; daughter, Elizabeth (Arthur) Faulx; sister, Marianne (Harold) Sechrest, and brother, John (Lauraine) Hudson; and three grandchildren. The family will receive friends 5-8PM Wednesday, August 13, 2008 at Osceola Memory Gardens Funeral Home, Kissimmee. Funeral services will be held 11AM Thursday, August 14, 2008 in the funeral home. LEE, Robert Judge, 74, of Honolulu, died August 6, 2008. Born in Ames, Iowa. Retired from the U.S. Navy after 27 years of service with his last assignment being aboard the submarine USS James Monroe (SSBN-622). Survived by sister, Mary Fawkes. Private service in Ames, Iowa. Arrangements by Mililani Mortuary.


McMASTER, Richard L., DIED August 10, 2008. A US Naval Veteran who served on a submarine, received electrical engineering degree form RPI, received his masters degree for system engineering at Stanford University, member of the Submarine Service Holland Club. Survived by wife of 40 years, Patricia; sons, Eric (Susan Avery) and Mark (Catherine); grandson, Ryan; sister, Cheryl (Michael) Kieffer. Calling hours, Tuesday, August 19th, 4-7 at the Richard H. Keenan Funeral Home, Village Location, 41 S. Main St., Fairport. Funeral Service TBA at Asbury United Methodist Church of Christ, East Avenue, Rochester. Interment, White Haven.
