VAN HORN, Robert L"Van", 82, of Enfield, CT, husband of Jeanette (Adkins) Van Horn since 1946, passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2008, at the Suffield House. Van was born November 25, 1925, in Watervliet, MI. He was a Navy veteran of World War II serving with the submarine service. Van was a resident of Enfield since 1955. He was employed at Pratt & Whitney Div. of U.T.C. for 40 years and for the past 15 years at Stop & Shop in Windsor. Van was a communicant of Holy Family Church and a member of the Tanguay Magill Post # 80 American Legion. He enjoyed gardening, playing cards, horseshoes, music and dancing. Besides his wife Jeanette of 62 years, Van is survived by his loving children, Richard Van Horn and his wife Dolly of Santa Maria, CA, Deb Rogerson and her husband Bill of Enfield, Amy Gee and her husband Bob of St. Johnsbury, VT, Jennifer Anderson and her husband Jeff of Stafford, and Becky Van Horn at home, five grandchildren, Jacqueline, Jessica, Cheryl, Kevin and Devon and his great grandchildren, David, Kristina, Justen, Madelynn and Halle Jean. Family and friends will gather Monday, August 18, by 10 a.m. at the Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield for a funeral procession to Holy Family Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Hazardville Cemetery. Van's family will receive relatives and friends at the Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, Sunday, August 17 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Memorial donations in Van's memory may be made to Alzheimer's Assn., 279 New Britain Ave., Kensington, CT 06037 or to American Cancer Society, 538 Preston Ave., Meriden, CT 06450 or to Our Companions Domestic Animal Sanctuary, P.O.
