Subject: AVG for Free problem?....

....after uninstalling and downloading again, I decided to look at their Forum.

If you are having problems, re, 'a.bin file is missing' and are unable to download updates, then fear not my fellow BBS'ers....they know about it and will fix it.

Now if only I had gone to their forum first I would have saved myself an hour of mucking about!

AVG is good and very popular but I use AVAST. A very good and aggressive anti-virus program and it too is free. I started using it after AVG failed to block a virus and sacked me. I also use SPYBOT and nothing else for spyware. Been pretty problem free since changing to them. The AVAST up dates as many as 5 times a day or as needed and as fixes are distributed.

Had that problem yesterday...left the computer on overnight...but we had some "minor" electricity connection problems...power was out due to some storms that went through here yesterday...but when I turned it back on today...everything was running as usual. Glad to hear they knew about it.

I got that bin file was missing yesterday.
Machinist Mate that I am I said "Screw it"
after trying to download 2 times and turned comp off and went to bed.
Today I find that the Good Cresent Wrench Fairies fixed it for me.
They still watch over me
