At random: When the nuclear powered submarine USS SEADRAGON surfaced at the North Pole while charting the Northwest passage in August 1960, the crew organized a baseball game. Because of Polar time differences, when a batter clouted a home run it would land in either the next day or in 'yesterday'.

Key Largo used to be called Rock Island until they made the movie Key Largo which I happen to be watching right now.

IIRC, none of the movie was filmed anywhere near Key Largo (or Rock Island, as you have it). There's some stock footage of hurricanes and of the inter-island highway through the keys, but all the rest was filmed on the Warner Bros lot in Hollywood, with a bit on Bogart's yacht Santana.

And was Lauren Bacall a sweetie, or what?
