Subject: Questions over the years

In my few years of life I have been asked some interesting questions about submarines.

While at an elementary school presentation

How do you know when it is raining outside when you are on a submarine?

Who desides where you go, and how do you know when you get there?

Where are the Tanning beds?

How do you watch out for traffic, if there are no windows?

In the engine room of the Albacore a year or so ago when a group of first-grade age kids came thru. One asked his teacher, "What is that smell?"

From behind me came a McManus voice saying, "that smell is absolutely wonderful."

of course you replied with
1. Sonar
2a. the Cook ( who doubles up as a SEAL..aka Steven Segal )
2b when you go 'bump' into the wharf
3. 'Topside' and
4. you don't, you shut your eyes and hope for the best!

of course only one of those answers is true.
