| Subject: Fall 2008 Torsk Work Weekend Update
A little less than a month left to go!!! The next Torsk Work Weekend will be held October 3rd to October 5th, 2008. It looks like another great turn out for this one. As of today we have almost 40 people confirmed. If you plan on attending and haven't let us know, please let us know as soon as you can so that we can get you on the confirmed list.
Also, please let us know what day you are arriving. This is extremely important in regards to planning for the meals. Two years ago we ran out of food at the Friday night dinner, and our hard-working cooks weren't able to eat. We don't want this to happen again.
As of today, the following people have confirmed attendance for the weekend:
Bruce Broseker
Gilbert Bohannon
Dave Thames
Mike Eacho
Frank Morgan
Larry "TorskDoc" Derouin
Bill Derouin
John Biesecker
John Kill
Bill McGlinn
John Bishoff
Jack Gollick
Roger Warden
Rich Basera
Cathy Steiner
Greg Cotton
Richard "Guns" Mendelson
Al Becker
Chris Gossweiler
Shea Brown (+2)
Roy Ator
John Pettingell
Mike Davidson
Tom Innocenti
Patti Lynn
Brian Flynn
Len Glendening
Chad Lydon
Ian Slepian
Mike Slepian
Don Brown
Jim Tolan
Bob Gawe
Bill Baxter
If you are going to be needing airport and/or train station transportation please let us know.
We're still putting the final touches on the project list for the weekend, but some of the things that we are planning on include:
Painting Throughout The Boat
Electrical Work
Annual Maintenance Items (Lubrication & Cycling of WTDs, Valves, & Bulkhead Flappers)
Cleaning Throughout The Boat
Rebuild/Repaint The Docent Shack Topside
As in the past, Chief Mike will be the master of the work list during the weekend.
Please remember to bring a pillow, sleeping bag and/or blanket, and towel(s) with you.
I will be mailing out the berthing list prior to the weekend. As always, we will do our best to accommodate everyone's special requests. However, the request itself does not mean that is where you will be berthing. Specifically, we have had more requests for Taney CPO Quarters Berthing than we will be able to accommodate.
Everyone will be required to complete a release form for 2008 prior to working. We will have these available in the crew's mess.
We look forward to seeing you all there.
Thanks,
Bruce |
