Quite a while back, you posted a picture of the Diving Tower for submarine school. Not the one in Hawaii. Was it at New London? If not, where?

John - I tried to send you a private e-mail to ask this quiestion, but nothing happens when I click on the e-mail address that you have posted here. I could get into your Sea Lion site, but I don't think that's the place to post a question.

Cora,

There are only two submarine training towers that I am aware of, and if it wasn't the one in Pearl Harbor (with palm trees in the background), then I'm pretty sure it was the one in NL.  I am assuming that you must have had another question about that picture, even though you didn't say so in your post.

Cora, not sure which diving tower or picture thereof you mean but am guessing the one at New London that has been torn down... My email address is working, it's just slow coming up via the BBS...

That's the one that Elmer trained on. When was it torn down? Is this rescue operation not taught anymore? Elmer had a good time training on it. And he was very impressed with the swimmers at the different levels who were prepared to help the men if they were in trouble. He said that it seemed that these guys could hold their breath forever.

Dan, I thought they recently built a new training tower in NL?

Hi John...yep, they did...I have interior pictures of the new one...taken back in May at Return to Sub School. Have to find the exterior picture I took the year before when it was still being built.

Patti,

Glad to see you are back up and around.  Hope you are doing a lot better now after all those doctors got done with their cutting and hacking on you.  Great to see you posting again.

Hi Guys,

You two are "so cute"... !!! I am doing much better...well, if you want to talk "chopping and cutting"...the Dr. did say my knee looked like "chopped crab meat (a la Red Lobster)...but all in all, everything is so much better. For the first time in months, my knee doesn't feel like it has a 10 lb weight in it...only 5...nah, it is a lot better than it was...
as are my spirits. I start PT on Friday...and will be going 2X's a week for 4 weeks...and if there is "no improvement"...Dr. said he was going to inject "something"...that, would you believe, is made from the comb of a rooster!!! Now that really had me floored!!! The wonders of modern medicine...maybe I shouldn't spread that around...PETA might come knocking on my door (SMILE)!

Thank you, Dan and John...AND EVERYONE...for your wonderful thoughts and prayers while I have been "down"...thank God for computers...as much as I hate them sometimes (like we all do)...they do bring joy and happiness and comfort when needed.

You are all THE BEST!!!
