At random: "Without courage, you might as well not be in it. You’ve got to have courage--moral courage, physical courage--and honor. Honor means telling the truth even when it might not be to your advantage" Retired Capt. Charles W. Rush Jr. (85), Navy Cross recipient, when asked to give advice to Chiefs and Junior Officers in today's submarine service.

I been back on the Island about a week cleaning up destruction, Wife's nail shop was destroyed, so one of our church friends gave her a job and room and board in the woodlands about a hundred miles away, so we see each other on weekends for awhile. Us sub sailors can go a week or two withour showers, but few wemon can. I have power and water as of yesterday but no gas so lots of cold showers, and I can cook my food in the microwave. now I am waiting for insurance companies to make their determinations as to what and how much they will pay for. Will try to paste a picture of my place.

WELCOME HOME, DOC! We missed you...well, at least I did. Glad to hear that things are progressing.
Hope the insurance co. comes through for you.

Give Tam our best when you talk to her again.

Now it took a man to take a cold water shower in the North Atlantic in winter, but Texas in early fall? A tapid shower might be more like it. Hope all goes well, and the plumbing is working. Slip trenches tend to fill quickly. I understand Doc G is an old hand at leading burning parties if you need that sort of expertiece. Then again, you will have to find some JP-5 for him to use. He loved that smell early in the afternoon.

Good to see you checking in, Doc. Nothing like a remodeling project to get the old juices flowing.

Hey Doc; round up Stoops and have him help out; maybe you can get more work out of him than I can.
